- Nope, John's FAQ may be somewhat helpful, but it's horribly out of
- date.. The problem he's refering to was fixed over a year ago, and if by
- some chance you did get a 1+ year old modem which did fall into that .1%
- of the Motorola Power/LifeStyle modems (not all Motorola's, jsut those two
- models), it woudl have fried your serial port if you had everythign set up
- just right (or wrong I suppose). The problem with your LifeStyle was
- probably much simpler then that.. If you couldn't get any response at all
- (and assuming all your software was set up right), you probably had a
- defective modem..
